About Me
With more than 20 years of experience in healthcare, Kayla has seen firsthand the ravaging effects of disease on the body that is caused by poor nutrition and a sedentary lifestyle. She has worked in the areas of cardiology, oncology, and emergency medicine—and wanted to understand better on how to prevent diseases.
Coming from an African and Caribbean background where natural foods and herbal medicine are heavily emphasized and having been raised on a 60-acre organic farm in her youth, Kayla knew deeply that the practice of reactive medicine wasn’t something that she felt was making a difference in and wanted to increase her knowledge in integrative and preventative medicine to help her patients live healthier lives.
This led Kayla Adebajo on a journey to find other alternatives in healing and medicine early on in her nursing career. She first studied holistic nutrition, energy medicine, bodywork and Reiki Sciences and then obtained her licence as a Reiki Master Practitioner.
In order to quench her curiosity about Eastern Medicine, Kayla embarked on a journey and moved to the West Coast to pursue a further nursing education and to learn more about holistic nutrition, vegetarianism/veganism, Buddhism, permaculture, spirituality, meditation/yoga, Qi Gong and Tai Chi.
While living in beautiful British Columbia, Kayla continued to study alternative health approaches completing certificates and training in medical herbology, medical aromatherapy and nutraceuticals. She has also taken courses in bodywork such as Feldenkrais, Rolfing, and craniosacral therapy to get a better understanding of different modalities of healing.
Kayla’s vast experiences have enabled her to provide a holistic approach incorporating preventative and integrative health services into her patient treatment plans. She also practices medical acupuncture and is knowledgeable in the use of adaptogens and nutritional supplements to complement her practice in family medicine and primary care.
She has recently been trained in IV nutritional and vitamin therapies and again has just returned from an ozone and nutritional interventions therapies conference with Dr. Schallenberger in Nevada.
